Yes, you may. You can upload, compile, build, run bg processes and use all available programs and resources on the system. Shell is as open as it was earlier (now even with crontab). eggdrop, BNC and other irc servers, bouncers, proxies and non destructive bots are not considered to be malicious.

There are few thousand irc users that runs some bots, bouncers etc... but the port range is limited. You may choose some port from direct access ports of your host.

polarhome does not have BG limit just total process limit, but if you start too many BG processes you will not be able to maga your account any more.

or at /home/e/eggdrop/doc2. Create/edit one config file 3. Check that ports and bot names are uniqe in eggdrop home dir. 4. Change to /home/e/eggdrop (eggdrop home directory) 5. Start eggdrop with your config file as ./eggdrop -m /home/m/me/my_config.conf

What ports I shoud not use | |
System reserves for system use ports 1-1024, 6666-6669, 8000, 8080.
If you found these ports unused, you may use them on your own, but system may take over them in any time. You may found list of used ports with netstat command or listed on each host's web server under statistics information. faq |
