I'm guessing by your username that you are on OpenVMS Alpha ;)

If so:
If you have prepared text for HTML pages (starting with INDEX.HTML) copy them in ASCII-mode FTP to a subdirectory called PUBLIC_HTML which should have been created under your home directory (SYS$LOGIN)

Copy GIF JPEG etc. files in BINARY mode

To connect to the Alpha by FTP, you must connect to
gate.polarhome.com using port 761 (*not* the standard FTP port.)

login using your username and password

cd [.PUBLIC_HTML]

you can use the pwd command (in most FTP clients) to check that you are in the correct directory.

Good Luck!
