Well probably it doesn't exist if it tels you so. :)
And if you try
Code: Select all
cwd /home/d/dreamkid

instead?

And use <a href='http://www.nsftools.com/tips/RawFTP.htm#PASV' target='_blank'>passive</a> mode.

Try to use another FTP client, make a search for AceFTP 3 Freeware, will do the job.

FlashFXP = better than ACE FTP and only $25 if you pay for it ...the trial still works after the times out.

www.Start-run-ftp.com doesnt support fxp :P

www.Start-run-ftp.com doesnt support fxp

either moi reading skillz sux, or i need a new pair of glasses...
... cause iv'e read it 50 times and i still can't understand it :s

anyways, there are a turdload of free ftp clients that are much better than ace/flash/bobftp, seriously.
my fav is ncftp, not sure if it has a win32 port though.

as for win32, the ftp client that's built in explorer is the simplest one by far, and supports anything that anyone would ever want.
... now if only microstuff would remove that goddamn 'calculating upload speed' piece of crap... *argh*

Windows FTP same as internet explorer tends to use multiple sockets and get users banned pretty quickly.

FXP = FTP to FTP ... IE transferring site to site without using your bandwidth in the middle.

Hmmm so you are the GUI man?
I believe there is one tweak inside registeryedit. Find it and disable small window, ofcourse the whole proccess window will be cone.
I couldn't find the LINE but there must be one registery! ;)
Try it on your win2000. . . D
In addition run >> ftp hit enter. Wow almost Unix :P
But I vote for WS_FTP pro, its not free but you can find the crack.
It has all the features you see on other ftps. And then some. . . :D
>>>Laugh<<< is a life energy.

From personal knowledge I can recommend wsFTP LE (that's 'Limited Edition') - not quite as good as wsFTP Pro , but free for personal use, works on WINxx, and has a checkbox for setting PASV mode on.

Works to/from redhat.polarhome.com (or rather ftp.polarhome.com - and you can set your connect port to whatever; in this case 791)

Look for OpenVMS help on my webpage
Check for QOTD here.
