freebsd index problem

Well guys,

the problem is, that I cannot access directories on my account at the freebsd server. Entering the URL of an existing file works, but not with directories. There is always this "Object not found" error. This happens always and with every directory, no matter if there is an index.htm (or any similar file, like index.html etc...) or not.

I tried to upload an .htaccess file with "DirectoryIndex index.htm" inside. This shows "500 - Internal Server Error". And the "Redirect" directive wouldn't be very useful.

Does anyone have an idea? It seems to work with other accounts, but not with mine ("regmail").

Thanks,
orcus

Try removing your htaccess totally as by default you should be able to view the directory contents.
