Line again bloody slow

Postby eh41 » Wed Sep 07, 2005 3:17 pm

This afternoon, the DSL line seems to be overloaded again. Impossible to enter pure text in an editor on an almost idle machine, have to wait for every char to appear :-(

What the hell are you guys doing?

You know each day I wake up and say "Today I will not get mad and start cursing" but always someone messes it up.

Today it's you. **** off, delete your account and go get hosted somewhere else. It's not like you're doing us a favor, is it?

I mean, yes I can understand people having complaints for something, but it's bevaviours like yours that make my head boil.

You won't get any answer if you write such an offensive post.

Hi,

unfortunately, polarhome.com does not have load control between hosts - therefore, if redhat is overloaded with http requests - it can happen that some other host (even in idle state) is extremelly slow (because all hosts share same line)

If it continues like this - that redhat uses 90% of polarhome's bandwidth - I will be forced to implement some bandwidth shaping.
Regards,
Z

And now I have calmed down. I think you need to understand that polarhome's line is shared by several thousand users and whilst yes, it is sometimes slow, I never find it unusable and I do a lot of terminal based work as well as using this forum a lot.

Thanks for all replies, it shows me that this is not the right company for me here (except Zoli). You're that selfish essential just jour jobs are running well.

I'll ask Zoli to revoke my accounts.

Sorry if anyone offended you.

It's sort of hard to divide between experienced users and a kid that's complaining because he wants more candy if you don't introduce yourself.

It makes people really angry round here if someone complains about this free service since we all know (or should know) that polarhome offers no “professional ISP service quality”.

If you had asked more politely than no one would have gotten hurt. Just my opinion...

Polarhome is not a company nor a professional shell provider. I am sorry if I went off the limits but your expression ("What the hell are you guys doing") was unacceptable in my point of view.

First on the "this system cannot offer" list:

What this system can not offer?
- professional ISP service quality
- host for huge sites
- DoS, SYN attack base
- host for remote attacks
- vhost and fake identity
- mail relay host, spam source
- host for SETI@home and such CPU eating projects
- mp3 and other multimedia media file distribution
- media broadcast services
