Proxy With Shell

hi all,

i just have a question , am i allowed to run a web proxy server in my shell ?
if yes , how can i do that ?

i am going to test some programs and find out how they works . specially in proxy and sockets and deamons softwares .

yes you can run almost any kind of daemons (exceptions are heavy CPU usage programs) if you want to run web proxy,there are a lot available i recommend you to try Squid proxy you can get more information on it from
