Eggdrop DCC access

Postby Spy » Fri Feb 17, 2006 2:56 am

Hello once again, Community.
I`ve just set up my own IRC server here on my shell and wanted to introduce an eggdrop bot to it. Generally everything ran smoothily except one thing:
DCC access to the bot does not work here.
I tried the same IRCd and eggdrop with same configs at localhost and everything worked just fine. Also I tried both system and my own compiled eggdrops - in vain. I used portrange 30000-34999 (since my shell is on the debian server).
Then I tried to DCC chat myself and it worked fine, but when I sent a DCC chat request to a friend he didn`t get it at all.
Another note is that the telnet connection to my bot worked properly, but telnet is much slower (for me) and much less convenient.
So, since DCC is a Direct Client to Client I suspect something shell specific of this issue.
Can anyone help me to figure it out?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry guys - investigated.
My GPRS provider`s proxy allows no direct access to my machine`s ports from the internet.
DCC will never work for me :( .
