Hi,
I have one question.

I would like to buy a shell account at polarhome.com, but I need to know if there is no problem with connecting to the IRCnet network?

Is it only in +r mode?

Thanks for any replay.

Yes, Polarhome has an i-line on IRC-SE though there are some restrictions.

Read more HERE.

I don't know what happened but it look that 2 days ago we somehow lost access on IRCnet. I hope that this is only ircnet admin mistake. Should I bother Zoli with that or rather not? Any suggestions?

I don`t know how much does my opinion count but I think that you should mention it to Zoli.
PS: I personally have friends on IRCnet and I wanna use a psyBNC on Polarhome Debian so it would be nice if I could connect it to one of the IRCnet servers.

Unfortunately for me it`s still "(Too many host connections (global)" . This would be the only connection to IRCnet from my user but it doesn`t work.
I use wrong server? Or what is the problem?

I see. Seems I got lucky and got a coonection trough.
Looks like we don't have the i-line anymore but I have no idea why.

Le's wait for IRC-SE to replay.

∙φ∙ Connecting to port 6667 of server irc.swipnet.se [refnum 93]

Seems the iline is back up. Remember: you can have only 1 connection from your account.

Actually there wasn`t I-line on all *.se but just on irc.swipnet.se, but somehow I still can`t join.
I see weird msg from irc.swipnet.se.
*** Please wait ... parental control activated.
*** You have not registered
*** You have not registered

And then got disconnected (from irc.swipnet.se) Reason: Closing Link

I didn`t use more than one connection of course. Hmm... somehow it look that ident server dont work (freeBSD). I restarted psybnc few times and it's same.

Hmmm.. I succeded. And I notice one thing. IRCd irc.swipnet.se is finally updated. This mean that nicks with "weird" characters in name (|, { etc...) aren´t allowed anymore. Maybe this was the problem why I still didnt succed connect on it.
Well, problem is solved.

Zoli, problem is solwed. We have acess on irc.swipnet.se again. Other 3 *.se ircnet servers of course don`t have I-line for Polarhome, but in any case they never had. So it's like in old times. We have one connection allowed and everything is OK (for now).
This temporally Polarhome block on their server might have something to do with server upgrade. I saw that irc.swipnet.se is upgraded now. This probably isn't good reason for temporally loosing I-line, but what could we? We got it back and everything is OK...
So, case is closed ;-)
Thanks for your fast intervention,

[09:02] Trying server irc.swipnet.se:6667
[09:02] net: connect! sock 4
[09:02] Connected to irc.swipnet.se
[09:02] -ERROR from server- Closing Link: ZumBae[halal@11.198.216.81.dre.siw.siwnet.net] (Too many host connections (global))
[09:02] Disconnecting from server.

I don`t know what the hell is it, but I cannot connect to IRCnet as you see. No other connection is made from my user so what can be the problem? Any of you Debian users can you connect to IRCnet?

Session Start: Sat Apr 16 10:20:54 2005
Session Ident: #se-opers

84.218.21.8 Quit (Kill line active: Bots are not allowed on .se.)
<Andrej_> could you make her back? she definitely isnt bot
<Sil> Unfortunately there were bots running from that domain, and some of them didnt have ident. :/
<Sil> Get the admin of that box to contact me, and I'm sure we can work something out.
<Andrej_> i think that they have other problem
<Andrej_> isp
<Andrej_> it's polarhome address
<Andrej_> but noone cant reach them
<Andrej_> or their page
<Andrej_> probably again some abusive idiot screwed them
<Sil> Yeah :/
<Andrej_> poor Zoli - he have problems every second month with ISP because those kids
<Andrej_> thanks for explanation
<Sil> Is Zoli the admin of that box?
<Andrej_> well, she coud use her local also
<Andrej_> it look that this is polarhome
<Andrej_> but without fixed network
<Sil> Just get the admin to poke me and we can work something out. :)

So, my suggestion is that Zoli contact se-oper Silence and explain to him that we had problem with connections which probably affect on identserv and that our psyBNC's without ident which tryed to join ircnet few days ago aren't bots.

Sorry but now that the static IP is gone, we lost all i-lines and we cannot get ask for a new one right now as we use dynamic IP.

You can thank a gentleman from Salvador who used his account to spread viruses for that.
