Goes down?

Its probably being glined from the network or something else.

Can you see it on irc?

No it cannot be seen on irc , I just can't connect to psy, not the network. but when i checks in the shell through the ps x command its still running.
Only when i kill the process and restarts it does it again comes online and the nicks on the psy join the channels they were on.

This moment I don't use IRC processes (because I-lines, dinamic IP etc... issues) but in past I had OFTEN same "problems" as kany mentioned. It isn't g-line, k-line or some other irc network issue. Everytime when something goes wrong with polarhome line (ddos for example) and it returned back I saw that my psyBNC "hangs" somehow. It was still listed as process in "ps x" but I was forced to restart it so that I made it really "alive". Well, it's not hard to do:

kill -9 ****
cd psybnc
./psybnc

..so I didn't report this, but since kani already mentioned...

Well its not about how hard or easy it is but its a constant irritaion as you try to connect to PSY and its doing nothing and you have to restart it all the times.

I've had the same problems with my PsyBNC on FreeBSD. Sadly I have no idea what goes wrong. The "hard" restart always worked. Seems to be a common issue with PsyBNC.
