I 'd like to get an FTP account but I wonder what is the case for Perl. I want to install software that says "the ability to run Perl software on your account on your Web server is required". Will it work?

Only shell accounts can run CGI scripts written in Perl.

Ok, then what kind of news posting software would work in an ftp account?

Uh.. usenet?

(j/k)

Just about any system written in PHP that puts data in MySQL will work on an ftp account.

Ok, thx for the help. I got another problem however: I created an account and don't seem able to access it via ftp. Apart from that I accidentally created a second account which I 'd like to delete but don't know how.

Make sure you read the access FAQs to see that you're using the right ip,port etc'

And there's no need to delete accounts, the system will automaticly delete old unused accounts when it needs the space, it's ok :)
