[wishlist] curses or ncurses on ubuntu.polarhome.com

Postby josef_ubuntu » Fri Sep 14, 2007 2:11 am

Hello!

I just got my shell-account today and try to get a psyBNC installed right now.
It would be a big help, if curses or ncurses (better ncurses) was installed, because I could see all possible config-options then!

Greetings,
Josef

Hi,

the admin would probably install it for you when he sees this topic.

However psyBNC has not been updated for years, it is so outdated now (and with many unfixed bugs) that I wouldn't suggest using it.

Have a look at ShroudBNC:
http://www.shroudbnc.info/About.aspx
it has a web interface that makes configuration very easy.

Thank you both!
The graphical configuration works and I will take a look at shroudBNC!
edit:
Seems there is no Compiler shroudBNC likes :(

Hi,

you have right, there were no c++ compiler on Ubuntu.
I have corrected this issue.

Code: Select all
The following NEW packages will be installed:
  cpp-3.4 cpp-4.0 fastjar g++ g++-4.1 g77 g77-3.4 gcc-3.4 gcc-3.4-base gcc-4.0
  gcc-4.0-base gcj gcj-4.1 java-common libg2c0 libg2c0-dev libgcj7-awt
  libgcj7-dev libgcj7-jar libmudflap0 libmudflap0-dev libstdc++6-4.1-dev

Ubuntu is the newest server in the polarhome development park and not that many developments have been done on this host, therfore there might be more what's missing.
Regards,
Z

seems like tcl or at least the developement-librarys are missing too!
Code: Select all
In file included from TclClientSocket.cpp:21:
StdAfx.h:20:17: error: tcl.h: No such file or directory
