Account Transfer From SuSE Server to Solaris

Postby osp_suse » Fri Oct 19, 2007 7:30 pm

Could an admin please transfer my shell account osp@suse to osp@solaris? I will post with my new account to confirm this.

I'm confirming that i want my old account deleted from the suse server and granting shell access on the solaris server. Don't bother transfering any files, i don't have any.

Thanks,

osp

If you don't get an answer soon, try sending a PM to zoli.
He's the Solaris admin.

Yep.
Some things such as this forum and the suse server are delegated out though.

I would say that no, you cannot due to the time taken and inconvenience.

See this link to the polarhome FAQ.

It would be easier to send a new application.

Ok,i will do that. Just asking how much time would it take to delete an account and create another? There isn't any files to move and any setting to save.

Thanks,

I understand what you're saying, but its ultimately down to the discretion of Zoltan.

I understand and am considering reapplying for the shell account. Just as a side note, this is my first time asking.

Be patient.
He has a wife and kid(s).
He may just be busy at the moment.

A week ago? You only started this thread 3 days ago.

Zoltan, like the rest of us do this as volunteers, we're not financially backed for our efforts.

Hello,

I did receive the PM, but haven't had time to look deeper into it.

But generally sjaz, has right: it is not allowed to mow accounts from on host to another one, even if we have made exceptions just because it is less time consuming to activate an account than to move it from one to another one.

BTW polarhome's support e-mail address is support@polarhome.com

Please create you solaris account and send mail to support.
Regards,
Z

If you really want your account deleted, send me a PM.
But honestly, I don't see what you lose by keeping it.
