Rekan-rekan T-net, Selamat Tahun Baru!
manipulatif.
Judul menghebohkan: "TNI admits to accepting cash from Freeport", kalau
Yang dinyatakan adalah: "The Indonesian Military (TNI) acknowledged for the
first time Thursday that its commanders in West Papua had received "support"
from a U.S. gold-mining giant ..."
Kapuspen TNI Mayjen Kohirin Suganda, juga menambahkan penjelasannya:
"But we have heard that Freeport provides support such as vehicles, fuel and
meals directly to the units in the field," Suganda said. "That's the
company's
policy. It was not done because we requested it."
ajukan:
1.) Seandainya, saya ulangi, seandainya benar bahwa TNI menerima uang tunai
dengan jumlah "US.$20 millions", mengapa audit tahunan perusahaan multi
national seperti Freeport, berlangsung mulus-mulus saja tanpa permasalahan?
Mengapa pimpinan Freeport Indonesia tidak pernah diperiksa oleh lembaga AS?
cukup lama. Tapi mengapa sekarang baru diblow-up kembali, khususnya
menjelang kedatangan Menteri Luar Negeri Amerika Serikat Condoleezza Rice ke
Indonesia?
3.) Apakah lemparan "bom" The New York Times ini dimaksudkan untuk
terror flights in Europe" :
dan kebijakan pemerintah AS tentang "outsourcing torture" :
Saya berharap para "TNI Watch" di LN, bisa memberikan pencerahan pertanyaan
diatas, khususnya mengenai tradisi kontroversi tentang double standards atas
nilai-nilai moral seperti Korupsi, Demokrsi, HAM dll.
Wassalam, yhg.

TNI admits to accepting cash from Freeport
JAKARTA (AP): The Indonesian Military (TNI) acknowledged for the first
time Thursday that its commanders in West Papua had received "support"
from a U.S. gold-mining giant -- responding to allegations that
Freeport-McMoran Co. gave the army millions ofdollars to protect its
facilities in the remote province.
TNI spokesman Maj. Gen. Kohirin Suganda said the armed forces "as an
institution" had never received donations from the New Orleans-based
company.
"But we have heard that Freeport provides support such as vehicles, fuel
and meals directly to the units in the field," Suganda said. "That's the
company's policy. It was not done because we requested it."
Kohirin was responding to an article published Tuesday in The York Times
that detailed Freeport-McMoran's alleged payments of US$20 million to
military commanders in the area in the last seven years.
