hi,
Unfortunately I haven't had time in the last half year for Vim development but now finally there is fixed this nasty bug that caused crash during window, tag etc operations. Unfortunately, we had this bug for more than a year - from "VMS to Unix merge" in 6.0ad.
Current version 6.1-311 includes fixes for following OpenVMS related problems:
- memory overwrite during tag and regex operations - corrected file path in GUI window title
- VMS and Unix file handling is rewritten - OpenVMS Vim uses lowercase filenames from now
- OpenVMS version does not convert filenames any more to full path when it is not necessary
- Works correctly with scripts, plugins, and functions as glob() etc.
- Improved remote editing support (password in path)
But there are still two known bugs left - even if nobody reported them. But they will be left for next time.
VAX (term, GUI/Motif) and Alpha(term, GUI/Motif and GUI/GTK) executables are available for download as well as runtime package without executables.
Fast site with current release http://www.polarfox.com/vim/

Slower site with lot of archives, vim.org and CVS source code mirror

Enjoy, the most stable and featured Vim on OpenVMS so far.
Opinions (and also error reports) are welcome. Seems we created an independent OpenVMS port, that is absolutely transparent to Unix changes and improvements... and that was the main aim in the last years of Vim development on OpenVMS.
Regards, Z
