Here are some nice chips, I did not send links last time. These chips is used
today by most vendor to make
WiFi equipment and Wireless phones as well as 2G/3G mobile phones and base
stations.

All those chips qualify less or more to make a first generation wormnet the
easy way.
They do not force you to be a king in RF, but however you must be familiar with
RF and DATACOM protocols.
I would like Marcel to fill in what _sources_ he have in VHDL and current state
of knowledge in the areas so it is possible to understand this a bit better.
