CAPS_SYS_SETGEN(2) BSD System Calls Manual CAPS_SYS_SETGEN(2)

NAME
     caps_sys_setgen — set the generation number for a CAPS IPC link

LIBRARY
     Standard C Library (libc, -lc)

SYNOPSIS
     #include <sys/caps.h>

     int
     caps_sys_setgen(int portid, caps_gen_t gen);

DESCRIPTION
     Set the 64 bit generation number gen for a CAPS link specified by the
     portid identifier. A service typically changes the generation number to
     indicate that it has been restarted.

RETURN VALUES
     The caps_sys_setgen() function returns the value 0 if successful; other‐
     wise the value -1 is returned and the global variable errno is set to
     indicate the error.

ERRORS
     This function will fail if:

     [EINVAL] The portid could not be found.

     [ENOTCONN] The process originally creating the port forked and the child
		 process attempts to access the port. The child process is
		 expected to create its own port.
