cat2pfb(3pf) OpenGL Performer 3.2.2 Reference Pages cat2pfb(3pf)NAMEcat2pfb - CATIA Version 4.x to OpenGL Performer (pfb) file converter
SYNOPSIScat2pfb-i modelDir -o outputDir [-c sag] [-s step] -t
[performer|pftess|catia]
DESCRIPTIONcat2pfb is a standalone program which converts all of the models from a
specified modelDir to pfb format.
The modelDir argument must be specified in the users' CATIA environment
as a model directory. You can view the list of directories by iussuing
the following command from within the CATIA environment:
catpath -d -p -a -n -l CATIA.MODEL
The outputDir specifies the location of the output files generated by the
converter. The conversion will process all of the models in the specified
CATIA.MODEL directory.
The -c option which specifies the sag value is only necessary when using
the -t catia option. The same applies to the -s value specified for the
step. These two values indicate the maximum sag (otherwise known as
chordal deviance) to be used when tessellating surfaces and the maximum
size of the triangles which will be generated. They are honored by
CATIA's tessellation routines.
The -t option specifies which tessellation method to use when performing
the conversion. Specifying performer will cause the geometry to be
processed and converted to higher level reps but no geosets will be
created. If instead the -t pftess option is used the reps will be
tessellated using the OpenGL Performer tessellator and the sag value will
be used as the chordal deviance tolerance for the tessellator. Finally,
if the -t catia option is used, CATIA's tessellator will be invoked and
no higher level information regarding the surfaces will be stored within
the model.
EXAMPLE USE:
cat2pfb-i MODEL_DIRECTORY -o /tmp -t performer
will process all of the files in the CATIA.MODEL directory specified by
the alias 'DB' and place the output in /tmp storing solely the surface
information in untessellated format.
Note: cat2pfb is only supported on IRIX.
