CDR(8) BSD System Manager's Manual CDR(8)

NAME
cdr - CD-Recordable drive control program

SYNOPSIS
     cdr [-f device] -c command [-P parameter=value,...] [-d] [-p
	 parameter,...] [-v parameter,...] [-x]

DESCRIPTION
This command is used to run SCSI commands on a specified device as a di-
agnostic.	The structure and use of this command is identical to
scsicmd(8), with the addition of commands specific to CD-Recordable
drives and the error code table extended to include the common error mes-
     sages returned by CDRs.

This command is not intended for general use, but is convenient as a di-
agnostic tool for the expert user. Typically, the cdread(8) and cd-
write(8) commands should be used instead.

ENVIRONMENT
CDR The default device filename. It may be overridden with -f.

DIAGNOSTICS
Among its many messages about consistency of arguments and so on, cdr
will print a message beginning ``scsi status:'' if a command fails for
     some reason.

SEE ALSO
     scsicmd(8), sr(4), cdread(8), cdwrite(8)

STANDARDS
American National Standard X3.131-1986, Small Computer System Interface
     (SCSI-1)

     American National Standard X3.131-1991 (SCSI-2)

HISTORY
     cdr was derived from scsicmd(8).

BUGS
None known, but it's certainly possible. The interface is clumsy and
     suitable only for expert users.
