NAME
cfsmutil - utility for setting and retrieving CIFS File System Module
       (CFSM) parameters

SYNOPSIS
       cfsmutil [-s]

       cfsmutil [-k]

       cfsmutil [-l <level>] [-f <filename>] [-m <filemaxsize>]

       cfsmutil [-i]

       cfsmutil [-h]

DESCRIPTION
cfsmutil is used to control and retrieve various CIFS File	System
       Module parameters related to tracing.

The CIFS FIle	System Module is used to add functionality to the CIFS
       Server (Samba) prodcut.

OPTIONS
       -s Enables the CFSM tracing.

       -k Disables the CFSM tracing.

       -l level
	      Sets new CFSM trace level.

The minimum is 0, the maximum is 8. Setting to 0 corresponds to
no tracing. The default level is 0. Trace level 1 corresponds to
minimal tracing - only crucial, major events are	logged. Trace
level 8	corresponds to maximum tracing - every event worth
tracing is logged. Trace levels 2-7 are progressively more
inclusive of events logged, but are not precisely defined.

-i Displays the current parameters and trace state.

	      The parameters displayed are:

	      CFSM Tracing on/off

	      CFSM Tracing level

	      CFSM Tracing file name

	      CFSM Tracing file maximum size

       -h Displays help text.

       -f filename
Sets new trace filename; default is
	      /var/opt/samba/log/cfsmtrace.log.

NOTE: CFSM tracing must be disabled to use this option.

       -m filemaxsize
Sets max size of the trace file in megabytes; defaults is 1.

NOTE: CFSM tracing must be disabled to use this option.

NOTE: When the trace level, trace filename and trace file maximum size
parameters are	set, the values will survive reboots and crashes. The
default value is only relevant until the first	time the values are
       manually set.

AUTHOR
The original Samba software and related utilities were created by
Andrew Tridgell. Samba is now developed by the Samba Team as an Open
Source project similar to the way the Linux kernel is developed.

The original Samba man pages were written by Karl Auer. The man page
sources were converted to YODL format (another excellent piece of Open
Source software, available at ftp://ftp.icce.rug.nl/pub/unix/) and
updated for the Samba 2.0 release by Jeremy Allison. The conversion to
DocBook	for Samba 2.2 was done by Gerald Carter. The conversion to
DocBook XML 4.2 for Samba 3.0 was done by Alexander Bokovoy.
