NAME
       getrpcport() - get RPC port number

SYNOPSIS

DESCRIPTION
       returns	the port number for version versnum of the RPC program prognum
       running on host and using protocol proto.  It returns if the RPC system
       failed  to  contact  the remote portmap service, the program associated
       with prognum is not registered, or there is no mapping between the pro‐
       gram  and  a  port.  If prognum is registered but not with version ver‐
       snum, it returns the port  number  of  the  last	 registered  (prognum,
       proto) pair.

       This  routine  exists  for backward compatibility only.	Enhanced func‐
       tionality is provided by (see rpcbind(3N)).
