ifup(8) Networking ifup(8)NAMEifup - Starts a network interface.
SYNTAXifup device
DESCRIPTION
This program starts a network interface. It is called from the system
"network" init script or may be called directly. It uses configuration
files located in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts.
OPTIONS
There is only one option.
device
Name of the network device. This is a required option. Exam‐
ples are eth0, usb0, eth0:2, lo, ppp1.

/etc/sysconfig/network
/etc/sysconfig/resolv.conf
ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES
All environment variables are set in the config files.
EXAMPLES
To run this program the standard way type:
ifup eth0
