NAME
       quit - print message and exit

SYNOPSIS
       quit (status, format [, arg ] ...  )
       int status;
       char *format;

DESCRIPTION
       quit is a means of terminating a process with an error message.

       This call should never return.

       quit  prints  on	 standard error the message specified by the printf(3)
       argument list format [, arg]...	then exits.

       The first argument, status, will be the argument passed to exit(2)  and
       this  is the process's return code.  All of the process's files will be
       closed.
