SHLIST(8) BSD System Manager's Manual SHLIST(8)

NAME
shlist - list shared libraries required by a binary

SYNOPSIS
     shlist [-a] file

DESCRIPTION
The shlist utility examines an executable binary file and lists the names
of shared libraries required to execute the binary. If a file is not an
executable binary file, or if a file does not require any shared li-
braries, shlist produces no output for that file.	When the -a flag is
given, it will list the addresses where each of the libraries will be
mapped in addition to the name information, if address information is
     available.

SEE ALSO
     cc(1), ldd(1), shlicc(1), mkshlib(8), shlib(8)

BUGS
It's a feature (I think) that shlist considers the dynamic linker to be a
     shared library.

Shlist does not verify that a shared library exists, nor does it recurse
to check dependencies of shared libraries. For dynamically linked pro-
grams, you can use ldd(1) to check for these things.

Shlist assumes, perhaps incorrectly, that any interpreted ELF executable
without a dynamic segment must use BSD/OS statically linked shared li-
     braries.
