SHLOCK(1) BSD General Commands Manual SHLOCK(1) NAME shlock — create lock file from shell script SYNOPSIS shlock [-d] [-f name] [-p pid] [-u] DESCRIPTION The shlock utility tries to create a lock file named name and writes the process id pid into this file. Options: -d Enable debugging. -f name The filename of the lock file. -p pid The process id that will be written to file. -u Use UUCP style lock file format. EXAMPLES A typical use could be (from within a script): shlock -f script.lock -p $$ DIAGNOSTICS The shlock command exists with 0 on success or with >0 if there was a problem.
