NAME
       tpctlir - enable/disable infrared port on a ThinkPad

SYNOPSIS
       tpctlir 0|1

DESCRIPTION
       tpctlir	enables	 or  disables  the infrared port on those IBM ThinkPad
       laptop computers that have Programmable Option Select registers;	 e.g.,
       the ThinkPad 760 and ThinkPad 765.

       0      disable the port

       1      enable the port

NOTES
       Later  models (such as the ThinkPad 600) do not seem to have POS regis‐
       ters, so this utility will not work with them.
