The Mail Manager

Managing alternate host names

Alternate host names enable you to have one machine appear as several machines. Virtual domains are an enhanced version of the alternate name feature. See ``The Virtual Domain User Manager'' for information on the Virtual Domain User Manager. See also multihome(1) and multihome(1M) for more details on virtual domains.

  1. Highlight the category group for alternate host name to activate the Add button.

  2. Click the Add button to produce the ``Add Alternate Host Name'' screen.

  3. Either type in the host name in the field, or click the Select button to produce the ``Select Host'' screen mentioned in ``Specifying the host name''. Make a selection and click OK when finished and to return to the ``Add Alternate Host Name'' screen.

  4. When the alternate name is entered in the field, click on OK to return to the main screen.
If no name has been entered in the field, then the default name is ``New''.

By highlighting the ``Alternate Name'' entry, the Modify and Delete buttons are activated. The Delete button removes the entry and clicking the Modify button produces a similar series of screens to those described for adding an alternate host name.
