Subject: Condolence to Indonesian Friends

Dear Indonesian Friends,

It is indeed very sad and shocking disaster by the nature that the
worst earthquake followed by tsunami in 40 years left more than
60 thousands drawn, missing and millions homeless.

On behalf of my all families and friends in Japan I would like to express
my deepest sympathy and condolence to those lost their lives and
homes, to their families and at the same time to all my Indonesian friends.
There may be some one of your family or friends involved.

As being tsunami a Japanese word, our country has been suffered from
same danger all the time for thousand years and even now shakes our land
frequently. So we feel and take this tragedy same as our own.

I rather hesitate to say Happy New Year but let's pray 2005 be a year of
recovery.

With deepest sympathy,

Satoru Hirai, Yokohama, Japan December 30, 2004
