MANPATH.CONFIG(5) BSD File Formats Manual MANPATH.CONFIG(5) NAME manpath.config — manual page search path configuration file SYNOPSIS /etc/manpath.config DESCRIPTION The manpath.config file configures the manual page search path used by the man utilities. The environment variable MANPATH (if set) overrides this information. Empty lines or lines beginning with a “#” are ignored. The following keywords are recognized: MANDATORY_MANPATH manpath_element Each specified manpath_element will be added to the search path. OPTIONAL_MANPATH manpath_element Each specified manpath_element will be added to the search path if it exists. MANPATH_MAP path_element manpath_element Each specified manpath_element will be added to the search path if path_element is in PATH.
