NAME
wlmgui - Graphical User Interface for the HP-UX Workload Manager (WLM)

SYNOPSIS
DESCRIPTION
allows you to	create, modify, and deploy WLM configurations both
locally and remotely. In addition, it provides monitoring capabilities.

is part of the B8843CA WLM product bundle. If you would like to install
on HP-UX systems where WLM is not installed, you can install just the
WLMUtilities bundle from the quarterly AR CD-ROM or from
http://www.hp.com/go/softwaredepot. For Microsoft Windows, you can
       download from http://www.hp.com/go/softwaredepot.

You can run on a system where WLM is running or on any	remote	system
with the appropriate JRE (Java Runtime Environment) version installed.
JRE version 1.5 or later is required. (For more on JRE version require‐
ments, see the DEPENDENCIES section below.) In addition, for PRM-based
configurations, PRM C.03.00 or later is required on the system WLM is
managing. (To take advantage of the latest updates to WLM and the GUI,
use the latest version of PRM available.)

The version of must match the version of the WLM product it will man‐
age. You can install multiple versions of on a Microsoft Windows PC.

You must start on each system that has a WLM or a WLM global arbiter
that you want to manage using is needed only if	you are using WLM's
virtual	partition management or its Instant Capacity-based nPartition
management. Instant Capacity was formerly known as iCOD.)

As a security measure, must be explicitly started:

To secure communications, follow the procedure discussed in the wlm‐
cert(1M) manpage. Note that WLM runs in secure mode by default when you
use the /sbin/init.d/wlm script to start WLM. However, if you upgraded
WLM, secure mode might not be the default. Ensure that the following
variables are enabled in /etc/rc.config.d/wlm. You can change the
default by editing the values for these variables:

You can also start at boot time by editing the /etc/rc.config.d/wlm
       file.

OPTIONS
       Displays usage information and exits.

       Displays version information and exits.

RETURN VALUE
returns exit status if no errors occur, or if there are errors.

NOTES
To use with a particular system:

	      · The target system must be running

	      · The user must have a valid login on that system, a password
that is not expired (if password aging is active), and a stan‐
dard shell. If the user's password is	expired or shell is
illegal (see getusershell(3C)), access is denied.

	      · The user must know the service port number
When first connects to a system, it reads historical data from the file
/var/opt/wlm/wlmdstats for monitoring purposes.	There may be signifi‐
cant delays in these instances. (You can limit the size of the wlmd‐
stats file automatically by using the keyword in your WLM configura‐
tion, as discussed in the wlmconf(4) manpage.)

WARNINGS
Use secure communications (as explained in the wlmcert(1M) manpage),
       or:

Do not use over the internet. Use only on trusted LANs where you
trust all the users: All data exchanged between and including
the user's password, is transmitted without encryption over the
	      network.

Restrict	communications between and to only authorized users to
	      improve security.

Rely--only to the extent that you trust your intranet--on the
monitoring information from to decide on a course of action.

The WLM GUI sends data to over the network without verifying the recip‐
       ient.

For additional information, see the WARNINGS section of the wlmcomd(1M)
       manpage.
